My son Bryan,
You are blessed of the Lord. The strength and wisdom of our Heavenly Father in you flows like a river; it cannot be stopped or interrupted.
You are like the morning sun; ever rising, shining so bright, sharp, strong and a blessing to nations. You are a great man (by scriptural definitions) waiting to be born.
Yes, with all that said, I would want that you seek to know thyself and find purpose very early. But in doing this, bear in mind that no man is an island – you do not exist in a vacuum.
It is important that you remember where you are coming from, where you have been, how you have survived and how your ancestors have survived too.
Knowing and remembering, from time to time, how your fathers (and mothers) lived their lives will give you an in-depth understanding of the love and grace of our Heavenly Father.
I am inspired to write you this as I read through the words of Alma in chapter 36. Open this scripture as I speak and read for yourself. My emphasis is on verses 2 – 3, 27, and 29 – 30.
I love you so much son, and I want you to live a long blessed life away from torments and suffering. Study the scriptures often, for in them lie the keys to unlock great and lasting happiness.
The Book of Mormon, as we have it in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is another testament of the Savior, Jesus Christ. And the Doctrines and Covenants are revelations given to us by our loving Father in this dispensation.
Let the love of God lead you to do good always.
Your mother,
China.
