The sound came again; this time loud and disturbing and Nenye had to break the lip lock. She turned and stared at the only door in the semi-dark room.

As drunk as she was, she perceived something wasn’t right but she couldn’t place it. Everyone at the party earlier was completely wasted and that made her wonder who would be up at that time.

In that split second, she contemplated the possibility of them being robbed but that thought didn’t stay as Richard forced her attention back to him. He stretched his hands, drew her in, took her lips in his and began to bite gently.

Richard was never ever in a hurry, she thought to herself as she closed her eyes. He touched and bit and licked and whispered, and Nenye savoured every bit.

Nenye was not in a hurry too, but she couldn’t stop thinking about Edem and the proposal he made earlier at his Bachelor Party. Thoughts of him made the sounds she heard ominous, but because she prided herself as a woman who lives in the moment, she forced her thoughts back to the man lying beside her.

When Nenye Richard first met, he had already given out his heart to another woman. And for a while, Nenye kept her feelings to herself. Besides that, he was the darling of all the women around; women who openly professed their “love” for him. She remembered how sweet Richard would smile at their advances and not say a word.

Somehow, she got close to him and found out that he was having a hard time with his beloved. She became his friend and strategist, and tried to help him win her love back.

While she was doing that, something else was happening to them. He had begun to hold her hand longer, sit and eat with her, tuck her hair when it was in her face, ask personal questions and whispered things to her. They were beginning to bond, and they could not help but acknowledge the “thing” between them.

Once, they decided to get drunk and get naughty. They had to drink so they could blame their actions thereafter on the wine. After the drinks, he had lain beside her, like today, and had loved her like she wanted to be loved. He had spent the whole night exploring her body and had found her spots and reached out tenderly. By the time the night ended, Nenye was in shreds.

Masterfully, Richard worked his way up her thighs. He did not stop until he got to her little hill, and when he found it, it was swollen, moist and warm. In minuscule circles, he touched and teased and squeezed and pinched, and after a while, he slipped his finger into her and began thrusting.

Wriggling to the increasing tempo of his fingers, Nenye found herself screaming with pleasure. She tried to keep her excitement down, but she couldn’t. So she begged him to stop. He didn’t. He didn’t stop because he needed to remind her of the reasons why she loved him, and he made sure he gave her more of him this time. After a while, he stopped, threw his head back and let out a soft moan.

For the first time, she opened her eyes and looked at him. She noticed the beads of sweat that had broken out on his forehead, and smiled. She smiled at the thought of him giving up his relationship of five years with his girlfriend for her. So She reached out and wiped it off.

Just then, she saw something move in the dark. From the corner of her eye, she saw someone rise from the only chair at the other end of the room and her heart skipped a beat. She pushed Richard aside and forced herself up and he followed her eyes to the chair.

Richard turned in time to see a figure rise from the chair. The person struggled to stand but couldn’t. He staggered and landed beside him on the mattress. The person landed with a thud and the things he had with him scattered on the floor; metal, bottle and all. Nenye looked at him closely and saw a knife. She let out a scream and was about to run to the door when the person spoke.

Slowly, she turned to face him. He was clad in a white shirt that had a brown stain on its right arm and Nenye quickly remembered how that stain came to be from the Bachelor Party. It was Edem.
