If unreciprocated love is not properly dealt with, it would haunt the bearer for a very long time. These persons often find themselves hoping and going back to the love even though they know it would never amount to anything.
Any wonder why some people cheat? One woman once said to her fiance in front of the man who never reciprocated her love, “If there’s any man I would cheat on you with, it would be him. For the longest time, I have loved him and he knows but he never thought me good enough for a life together. So I would give anything in this world to know what his love feels like”.
Her fiance’s reaction? Your guess is as good as mine. Did they go ahead with the marriage? That’s a story for another day.
However, here’s a short story for the night.
A girl went and fell in love with a man. He loved her too but she wasn’t good enough for “a life together”. She spent her days with him not knowing for sure if she will end up with him. She wished and prayed, but he was stuck on “showing” and not “telling his love”. And she wanted to know so badly. So she waited.
Ocassionally, he would tell her how good she made him feel. Once, he even said he felt married already and wanted to keep it that way. No commitments. Just be in her life to stop other men from approaching. Then whenever he is ready to start “making children”, she could take a walk and find herself a man willing to love her like she wants.
Sister gurl waited for the longest time. She closed her eyes to advances and constantly thought of better ways to get him to say the L-word. He never did.
So she gave up after many tries; Yeah, she got tired and took the walk before he was ready to let her go. He cursed and fought and blackmailed but she still took the walk.
Away from him now and completely free of the bile he had injected into her, she wants to open her heart to another. She wants to love again but she is finding out that it is the most difficult thing to do.
