Does anybody know why Quentin Tarantino love guns and blood so much? And yes, there is always a big splash whenever and wherever. He is not one to gently spill the liquid; he makes statements with them and he makes them really loud.
Well, I have had the privilege to see The Hateful Eight and I’m stoked. Quentin brought men and women from different places, backgrounds, races, social strata and locked them up in a room. He actually made them nail their door twice to be doubly sure no leaves. And you know what he did next? The son of a gun made them blow their heads and balls off. What? Genius!
All five chapters – suspicions, shootings and blood. Blood in great amount and blasted flesh splattered all around.
Wait, with the way I vividly described all of that, are you sure I’m not gradually becoming Quentin like this??
Well, I’m going to say this and I’m going to say it once. Please don’t come to lecture me with “filmmaking is an artistic expression of… yhen, yhen, yhen! Blah!
Just go ahead and make the film! Let your audience decide if there is art in it or not. And if they do not see art, you would have communicated something else.
