It was on your bed
that I first found purpose.
I remember that night like crystal;
the moon was just waking up
and the night birds had a gathering.
In that lowlit room, and with
reggae playing in the background,
our bodies met and spoke truths.
The healing was in your palms
and my peace came from your voice.
In tones of sweet blue,
you dispersed the bitterness in my heart
and whispered life into my weary soul.
And in that moment,
I knew I could be more
and one way to do that
was to live for you.
